Odisha: Vigilance Arrests Senior Clerk For Bribery In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Senior Clerk Akshaya Kumar Nayak on charges of bribery. Nayak, working at the Sub-Collector’s office in Malkangiri was nabbed red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs 80,000.

The sleuths acted upon a complaint filed by one Jeevan Mandal of MV-82 village under Motu police limits. Nayak demanded the aforesaid amount from Mandal for processing a file to drop a proceeding on the latter’s plot.

Officers of Vigilance, Koraput Division laid a trap and arrested the Senior Clerk. “His office room and residential house at Malkangiri are being searched. He was booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act. Further investigation is on,” the anti-corruption agency stated.
