Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Wednesday arrested Vivekananda Tripathy, Assistant RI, In-charge RI of Sindurpur Revenue Circle under Binka Tahasil in Subarnapur district, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant as the first installment out of an overall bribe demand of Rs 60,000 to furnish enquiry report for conversion of his agriculture land to non-agriculture purpose and issuance of RoR in favour of the complainant.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused and seized.
Following the trap to nab, simultaneous searches at two locations linked to Tripathy from the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection at the Sambalpur Vigilance under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is in progress into the case against Vivekananda Tripathy and a detailed report is awaited.
