Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested Lily Choudhury, In-charge Revenue Inspector), Tasaladihi, Tangarpali Tahasil in Sundargarh district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to submit an inquiry report for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land in a conversion case in the latter’s favour. The entire bribe money of Rs 5,000 has been recovered from the accused Choudhury and seized.
Following the trap to nab Choudhury red-handed, Vigilance sleuths are currently conducting simultaneous searches at two locations of the accused in the Sundargarh district from a disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection at the Rourkela Vigilance police station under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is in progress against accused Choudhury and a detailed report is awaited.
