Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Wednesday arrested the Head Master of Baragaon Upper Primary Boarding School in Nabarangpur in a disproportionate assets case.
The Vigilance conducted raids on the premises of Ranjeet Kumar Panigrahi and unearthed assets to the tune of Rs 2.60 crore, including two double-storeyed building, one three-storeyed building, six plots, two 4-wheelers, and two 2-wheelers.
The anti-corruption agency also stumbled upon bank deposits of Rs 70.46 lakh and gold and silver ornaments of Rs 6 lakh during the raid.
“After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Panigrahi was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs 1.80 crore,” the Vigilance stated.
The Koraput Vigilance division has booked Panigrahi under several Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and produced him in a local court. Further investigation is on.
