Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday caught Bipin Kumar Dehuri, OIS-I, General Manager, District Industries Center (DIC), Subarnapur, red-handed while demanding and taking bribe a of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to process and approve the loan application of the complainant for sanction of a loan under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) in his favour.
He has been arrested and the entire bribe money has been recovered from possession of accused Dehury and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Dehury from the disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection at the Sambalpur Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation into the case is in progress against accused Dehury and a detailed report is awaited.
