Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Debasis Panda, Principal Scientific Officer of the State Drugs Testing Laboratory, Sambalpur, over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
Acting on credible inputs, Vigilance teams led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), ten Inspectors, four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and supporting staff carried out the raids under the authority of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
According to an official press release, the searches are being carried out on the suspicion that Panda has amassed assets beyond his known sources of income. The coordinated operation spans multiple locations across Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, and Berhampur.
The premises under scrutiny include:
- Flat No. 15, Block-5, Metro City, Behrasahi, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
- Flat No. 11-D, Block-2, Metro City, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
- Space No. OU-634, Esplanade, Bhubaneswar
- Flat No. 105, Block-D, Prestige Apartment, Balabhadrapur, Bhubaneswar
- Rented residence of Panda, Duplex No. DX-29, Greater Sambalpur, Bareipally, Sambalpur
- Paternal house at Nabhi Colony, Church Road, Berhampur, Ganjam
- Office chamber of Panda at the State Drugs Testing Laboratory, Kainsir, Sambalpur
