Odisha Vigilance Raids IAS Officer Vinod Kumar’s House
**Bhubaneswar:** A day after the Vigilance Court convicted IAS officer Vinod Kumar along with six others in the Orissa Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDA) scam, the anti-corruption agency raided his premises today evening.
The sleuths raided his house at Nayapalli’s VIP Colony to trace the senior bureaucrat, who was not present in the Special (Vigilance) Court during pronouncement of the judgment on Tuesday.
The court later issued non-bailable arrest warrants against five, including Kumar, as they were untraceable. Kumar was the Director of ORHDC in 1999 when the scam of Rs 55 lakh (financial irregularity) took place.
After the 1999 super cyclone, the ORHDC had allegedly started extending loans to private builders and individuals without adhering to prescribed guidelines.
