**Bhubaneswar:** The residence of convicted IAS officer Vinod Kumar in the Orissa Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) scam was raided by vigilance sleuths for the second day, today.
A 5-member team of Odisha Vigilance raided Kumar’s house in Nayapalli’s VIP Colony here and seized some important documents, said sources.
The Special Vigilance Court, Bhubaneswar, on Tuesday, had held Kumar and five others guilty in Rs 55 lakh financial irregularity case in 2000. The court had also issued non-bailable arrest warrants against four, including Kumar, as they were untraceable.
Power by the warrant a team of Odisha Vigilance, on Wednesday, had raided the above mentioned house of Kumar to trace the senior bureaucrat, who was not present in the Court during pronouncement of the judgment.
After the 1999 super cyclone, the ORHDC had allegedly started extending loans to private builders and individuals without adhering to prescribed guidelines. Kumar was the Director of ORHDC in 1999 when the scam took place.
