Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday informed the Odisha Assembly that the State Vigilance Department has unearthed disproportionate assets worth ₹202.58 crore from government officials during raids conducted between July 1, 2024, and September 15, 2025.
In a written reply to a question raised by Baliguda BJD MLA Chakramani Kanhar, the Chief Minister said the seizures include ₹8.38 crore in cash, 218 flats, 775 plots, 13 farmhouses, 16 gold biscuits, 25.55 kg of gold ornaments, ₹44.21 crore in bank deposits, and ₹43.02 crore in insurance policies.
Majhi added that during this period, complaints were filed against 78,785 individuals, and cases were registered by 170 departments. While key accused persons have been arrested and sent to judicial custody, others were initially spared due to lack of evidence. However, he clarified that once evidence is collected, arrests are made and charge sheets are filed to ensure conviction.
The Chief Minister said the Vigilance Department continues its evidence-gathering efforts to intensify the fight against corruption in the state.
