Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees during simultaneous house searches at five locations linked to Prasanna Kumar Pani, JE (Technical Consultant), Samagra Sikhya Abhijana in the office of BEO, Pallahara in Angul on Wednesday.
According to Odisha Vigilance, five buildings, including three multi-storeyed buildings and one flat in Bhubaneswar, 17 plots, deposits of over Rs 51 lakh, cash to the tune of Rs 3.21 lakh, along with other assets unearthed during searches on properties linked to Pani and his family members.
In addition, the Vigilance officials seized one four-wheeler and three two-wheelers from the possession of the accused.
Acting on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) by Prasanna Kumar Pani, JE (Technical Consultant), Samagra Sikhya Abhijana, in the office of the BEO, Pallahara, Angul, the Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday launched simultaneous house searches at various locations linked to Pani.
The raids are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by six DSPs, six Inspectors, and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at the following nine places in Khurdha (Bhubaneswar), Angul and Puri districts:
- A triple-storied building at plot No. 367 in Trilochan Vihar, Ebaranga. Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar.
- A triple-storied building at plot No. 366 in Trlochan Vihar, Ebaranga, Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar.
- A triple-storied building near Friends Club, Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar.
- Flat No. B/4 – 02, Hightech Plaza, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
- A rented house at Uday Vihar, Canal Road in Angul’s Pallahara.
- The office chamber of Pani at the office of the BEO, Pallahara in Angul.
- A Triple-storied building located at Amlapada in Nimapada, Puri.
- At a relative’s house at Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar.
- A house of Pani’s business partner at Gouri Dham in Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
The searches are in progress and further details are awaited.
