**Kendrapara:** Protesting the alleged delay in arrival of ambulance for which a youth succumbed to his illness, the irate villagers of Lunimathia Sabarpada blocked the main road by placing the body of the deceased in front of the 108 Ambulance and demanded compensation.
The incident took place at Lunimathia Sabarpada village under Jambu Marine Police Station limits of Mahakalpada sub-division today.
The protesting family members and villagers alleged that the death occurred due to delay in arrival of the 108 Ambulance.
As per the allegation, the 108 Ambulance was called last night but reached the village at 8 am today.
The deceased youth identified as Nakhia Mallick died at 4 am early morning as the ambulance allegedly did not reach in the night.
After the ambulance reached in the morning today, the bereft family members and villagers got extremely angry and vehemently protested it by placing the body before the ambulance and blocking the main road of the village. They demanded compensation and action against the ambulance staff. The ambulance staff were also held hostage by the agitating villagers.
