Odisha: VSSUT-Burla Shut After Lecturer’s Husband Dies OF COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: The Burla based Veer Surendra Sai University OF Technology (VSSUT) has been shut down for a day (today) after the death of a lady lecturer’s husband possibly due to COVID-19.

Sources said that the deceased was at a senior position in NALCO, Angul. He had reportedly tested positive for the novel coronavirus last afternoon. He succumbed as his condition aggravated today morning.

The said lecturer’s swab samples have also been sent for testing. Contact tracing and other follow-up actions are being taken by the Sambalpur district authorities.

The VSSUT administration is to hold a meeting and decide on further extension of the closure.
