Jajpur: A wild bear fell into a well last night after attacking villagers in Hatasahi under Sukinda forest range of Jajpur district. After struggling for hours, it was recovered dead from the well on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, the wild bear strayed into human habitation last night and attacked villagers injuring two persons. After creating panic and ruckus, it slipped and fell into an open well.
Locals immediately informed Fire Services personnel and the Forest Department. However due to delay in their arrival, the bear drowned to death, alleged villagers. Its body was recovered on Wednesday morning and sent for post-mortem.
