Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Ganjam Zilla Parishad has been awarded the Best District Panchayat Award, while Hinjilicut block has been declared as the Best Block in the country making the people of Ganjam as well as Odisha proud.
Odisha won six National Panchayat Awards and the President of India Droupadi Murmu presented the awards at the National Conference on Incentivisation of Panchayats at a function in New Delhi on Monday.
Kanchuru Gram Panchayat of Hinjilicut block won the Second Best Award in the category of Health Panchayat, while Sasan Ambagam Gram Panchayat of the same block won the Second Best Clean and Green Panchayat Award.
Kulada Gram Panchayat of Bhanjanagar block won the Second Best Award in Socially Secured Panchayat and Ankuli Gram Panchayat of Patrapur block bagged the Second Best Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar.
Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, CDO-cum-Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Keerthi Vasan V, Berhampur Sub-Collector Kulkarni Ashutosh C received the awards on behalf of their Gram Panchayats. The officials of the concerned block and Gram Panchayats were also present on the occasion.
