Odisha Witnesses Fog Blanket, Mild Frost, Fall In Minimum Temperature

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha were reported to be enveloped by fog today early hours while Bonaigarh area in Sundargarh district reportedly witnessed mild frost. Also, several parts of the State reportedly reeled under cold wave as the minimum temperature (night temperature) fell 3-4 degree Centigrade below normal.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Bhubaneswar Met Centre had on Thursday issued yellow warning for resurgence of cold wave condition for Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts following which the office of Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) had to issue advisory to the respective district administrations.

The SRC office has also simultaneously issued advisory to the district administrations, SPs and RTOs for controlled plying of vehicles on the highways due to the foggy weather condition.

The main cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar (Odisha’s capital city) were also engulfed with fog.

The IMD has also predicted that dry weather condition is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
