Bhubaneswar: A 23-year-old woman from Odisha, who was interning at Mahindra and Mahindra’s factory in Uttarakhand’s Lalpur area, was found murdered. Police have arrested one person in connection with the case.
The deceased, identified as Shrusti Sharma, was a native of JKPur in Odisha’s Rayagada district and was undergoing a six-month internship at the Mahindra and Mahindra in Lalpur. She was residing in a rented house owned.
According to police, the body of the young woman was recovered from a river in Lalpur, under the jurisdiction of the Kichha Kotwali police station, on Thursday morning. The investigation led to the arrest of the landlord’s son, Amit, who confessed to the crime.
The police said that Amit and his brother Sumit had carried the woman’s body wrapped in a sheet on a bike at 12 am on November 4 and threw it into the Barour river. The body was recovered on Thursday morning and sent for a post-mortem.
