Bhubaneswar: A woman from Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar and her lover had allegedly hired a contract killer to kill her husband. It was revealed after the arrest of one of the accused.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ashok Kumar Sahu, the woman’s lover who used to work as a driver for her and her husband.
As per sources, the woman’s husband identified as Binayak Behera has been working as a railway electrical engineer. After his transfer to Puri, she fell in love with their driver Sahu.
The woman and Sahu had planned to kill Behera and hired a contract killer for the said purpose. Reportedly, a deal worth Rs 80,000 was fixed for the job.
Earlier on April 16, Sahu had attacked Behera with an iron rod. Acting on a complaint in this regard, police had initiated a probe and arrested Sahu on the basis of the CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, the woman and the contract killer are absconding. A manhunt has been launched to nab them.
