Berhampur: A woman Sikhya Sahayak in Ganjam district committed suicide allegedly after failing to qualify the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), the result of which was announced on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Annapurna Sahu. She was teaching at Gola Mathura Project High School in Khallikote since 2013 as a Sikhya Sahayak.
Sahu was a native of Sunakhala in Nayagarh district and living in a rented accommodation at Gola Mathura village. It is being suspected that after the results of the OTET was out yesterday she resorted to the extreme step.
Khallikote police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. It is being suspected that the woman consumed insecticide to end her life. Further investigation is on.
