Puri: Toeing the lines of their party national president Amit Shah soon after his address at the inaugural function of BJP Mahila Morcha national executive meeting here today, BJP Mahila Morcha national president Bijaya Rahatkar in her press meet said that the women of Odisha have already made up their mind to change the incumbent BJD Government here in the State.

Addressing the press meet, the BJP Mahila Morcha national president said, “Today was the inauguration of BJP Mahila Morcha national executive meeting here. BJP national president Amit Bhai Shahji inaugurated it. From each State of our country our women leaders have come over here. About 210 women members have already attended. It is upto our expectation.”

She said, “A while ago, our party national president addressed the inaugural meeting. I would like to present before you certain issues raised by our party national president during his speech.”

“About 15,000 women from the 8000 ‘shakti kendras’ (booths) across Odisha have turned up today. It is the first ever ‘sammelan’ (convention) of the women in the entire country. Thus it implies, the way torture is being inflicted on the women in Odisha, they are unsafe here in the State. They have become fed up and have fully decided to change the incumbent Odisha Government,” stated Rahatkar.

She also said, “Our party national chief has exhorted country’s ‘matru shakti’ (woman power) to march forth with victory pledge for 2019. BJP is a party of absolute majority and our party’s governments are in 19 States. It’s impossible to defeat us, arguing “The party that began with 10 members is today of 11 crore party members. Our party has now 15 CMs, 320 MPs and we have world’s most popular leader. The party’s today position is due to the supreme sacrifice made by our workers.”

She also quoted Shah saying, “Nobody should dream of our defeat. 2019 election is a challenge to all of us. While the opposition’s fight is for power, ours is for ideology. 2019 election is going to be a historic one.”

She also claimed, “Our party has been focusing on the reservation of women and will do it once we have majority in both the Houses of Parliament as the Triple Talaq and women reservation issues have stuck in Rajya Sabha. However, we’ll come out successful.”

Odisha unit BJP Mahila Morcha president Pravati Parida said, “BJP is trying to solve the problems faced by the women of the rural Odisha.”

“The woman who would have cast vote for BJD 18 years ago, she might be 36 years old now. If her husband would have died falling prey to alcohol, son unemployed and also in alcoholic grip, what answer this 18-year-old government will give to that woman. Thus, we have began our fight for the woman’s dignity and safety and continue,” he averred.

Responding to a media query, Parida said, “The issue of women reservation is the responsibility of our party’s parliamentary board. We are working and consolidating our organization at the grassrootslevel for the over all development of women.”
