Bhubaneswar: Odisha Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan today reviewed the construction of the new building of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The Minister sought the status of this new campus, which is going to play a major role in the field of healthcare, from the departmental officers, OBCC and the construction company that has undertaken the construction.
The under-construction campus on the sprawling 48 acres land has 266 ICU beds and 2058 beds in the categories of general medicine, special medicine, special surgery, general surgery and trauma care.
Similarly, the campus will have 512 units in 13 residential towers for doctors and staff. Officials apprised the Minister about the status of construction of a special hostel to accommodate 2,278 boys and girls along with kitchen, laundry, data centre, central store and accommodation for patient attendants, car parking etc.
The minister directed the officials and construction agencies to speed up the construction work and submit a report on the progress of the work every 15 days.
Among others, Cuttack-Barbati MLA Sophia Firdous, Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Sauvik Biswal, Cuttack-Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi and other top officials were present in the meeting.
