Dhenkanal: A 21-yr-old youth named Tuna Behera , who was undergoing treatment at the Dhenkanal District Headquarters, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the sixth floor of the hospital building on Friday morning.
Behera hails from Mahula Kholi village under Gondia PS. It is alleged that he had left his bed under the pretext of walking around, and went upstairs to the sixth floor. He allegedly jumped off the there.
SK Bhola, ADMO, Dhenkanal DHH clarified, “The patient was admitted late on Thursday night for heat exertion on the fourth floor. We administered saline and injections and he was recovering well. He had even had breakfast in the morning, and was doing well. But it seems he was undergoing some kind of depression and had suicidal tendency. He reached the sixth floor, first slit his wrist by a blade and then jumped from the open glass pane.”
Dhenkanal Police reached the spot and has started the investigation.
