#OdishaFightsCorona: COVID-19 Tests In VIMSAR, MKCG Soon

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered for making available testing facilities for coronavirus (COVID-19) samples at VIMSAR, Burla and MKCG Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur very soon, informed Odisha government’s Chief Spokesperson for COVID-19 management Subroto Bagchi today.

“Work is on war footing to equip/upgrade facilities at these hospitals for testing of COVID-19. Very soon these hospitals are likely to get approval from ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research),” Bagchi further informed.

He stated that Chief Minister while chairing a review meeting with the Health Minister Naba Das and senior officials today stressed on expediting COVID-19 testing facilities in western and southern parts of the State.

The Chief Spokesperson revealed that as of now around 300 samples are being tested for COVID-19 on a daily basis in three places.

“Chief Minister has ordered for increasing  testing of samples to 1,000 in the next five days,” he added.
