Bhubaneswar: The new NIELIT Centre at Balasore (Odisha) will be virtually inaugurated tomorrow as part of the launch of the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform. The inauguration ceremony will be led by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, from New Delhi.
The NIELIT Digital University is set to revolutionise digital education in India by offering advanced programmes in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, and semiconductors. The platform aims to democratise access to quality digital learning through flexible online courses and virtual labs, equipping the youth with future-ready skills.
Alongside the Balasore Centre, four other NIELIT Centres will also be inaugurated virtually, located in Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Daman (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu), and Lunglei (Mizoram). The event is expected to draw over 1,500 participants including students, academicians, and technology experts from across the country.
The NDU platform is part of the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY). The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to empowering India’s youth with the digital skills necessary for the evolving technology landscape.
