**Bhubaneswar:** The GDP of Odisha has been growing year-on-year since 2013-14, and quite often beating the national average. While the National GDP for the second quarter of 2018 has dipped, Odisha’s GDP has surged, BJD IT Cell Head, Amar Patnaik said.
This is a good sign for the State as it reflects the overall growth. This also indicates that the per-captita income and spending power has increased. Addressing a press conference here today, Patnaik said that the expenditure of Odisha on development and infrastructure & economic services, has been very balanced. This balance is better than many other States in the country, he said.
“By investing on development, particularly health and education, we are building the future citizens. We are creating more disposable income for the average family which can spend more for meeting his aspirational needs,” added Patnaik.
