Bhubaneswar: Pattapur Police Station in Ganjam district, Odisha, has been ranked among the top three police stations in the country for 2024. The Union Home Minister will personally present the award to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Patapur Police Station on November 29 during the DGsP/IGsP Conference-2024 at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.
“I thank the Hon’ble Union Home Minister and the Ministry of Home Affairs for recognizing Pattapur Police Station in Ganjam district as one of the top three police stations in the country. Previously, Aska and Gangpur police stations also achieved similar recognition. Patapur Police Station’s exceptional performance was instrumental in securing this honor,” said DIGP (Southern Range) Sarthak Sarangi.
Sarangi further noted that two key criteria were used to evaluate police stations: 1.Investigation and Crime Detection: The overall performance in solving cases and maintaining law and order 2. Public Feedback: A survey capturing the general opinions of people residing within the jurisdiction of the concerned police station.
Both Pattapur and Dharakote police stations from Ganjam district were nominated. However, Patapur stood out for its high-quality performance during the year-long evaluation process. “This recognition brings pride not only to the district police but also to Odisha Police as a whole,” Sarangi added.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to the Odisha Police and the DGP for their support in enabling this achievement.
