Bhubaneswar: All-rounder Sushree Dibyadarshini from Odisha has been selected in the 15-member East Zone squad for the BCCI Senior Women Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Trophy which is scheduled to be held in Pune, Maharashtra from March 28 to 11 April 2024.
Sushree is the lone face in the East Zone team, which features six from Bengal, four from Jharkhand, two from Tripura and one each from Assam, Bihar and Odisha.
Sushree got training under coach Khirod Behera at Jagruti Cricket Academy in Bhubaneswar.
Deepti Sharma will lead the 15-member East Zone side with Ashwani Kumari as her deputy.
The tournament will feature six zonal. The other five zonal teams are: North, South, West, North-East and Central. North and South would play semifinals directly.
With this tournament, red-ball cricket for women will return to the domestic calendar of the country after a gap of four years.
East Zone would meet North East Zone in their first quarterfinal from March 28 to 30. Semifinals would take place from April 3 to 5, followed by the final from April 9 to 11.
The tournament will begin right after the ongoing Women’s Premier League, which ends on March 17.
