Bhubaneswar: A Special Vigilance Court here on Tuesday sentenced Odisha IAS officer Vinod Kumar ex-Managing Director of Orissa Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC), Purna Chandra Das ex-Executive Director, Technical, ORHDC and Subash Chandra Panda State Coordinator of AWARE (NGO) to 3 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and to pay fine of Rs 25,000 after convicting them for illegal sanction and disbursement of loan on the basis of fabricated documents without security.
The Odisha Vigilance had charge-sheeted Kumar, Das, and Panda under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) PC Act, 1988/420/120-B IPC.
This is the 10th conviction involving corruption in ORHDC by Vinod Kumar and other officials by hatching criminal conspiracy with private persons.
