Bhubaneswar: A high-level delegation from led by CMD Ranjit Rath, CGM Santanu Kumar Saikia, and OGEL Rajeev Kumar Tamuli, met Housing & Urban Development Principal Secretary Usha Padhee at Kharabela Bhavan to review the progress of six Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants coming up across Odisha.
The meeting focused on project timelines, commissioning readiness, and integration of the upcoming plants with municipal waste streams to ensure a steady supply of feedstock. Both sides underscored the importance of converting urban waste into green energy as part of Odisha’s push toward clean energy and a circular economy.
Padhee highlighted the State Government’s priority on building sustainable waste-to-energy ecosystems that reduce landfill load while generating local economic value. The Oil India team expressed confidence in meeting key project milestones and reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the state’s green transition.
The discussion concluded with an agreement to fast-track coordination between Oil India and urban local bodies to enable time-bound commissioning of all six CBG plants. Addl. Secretary Binaya Kumar Dash was also present during the meeting.
