Bhubaneswar: An ‘OLA’ cab driver was allegedly abducted by unidentified miscreants for ransom in Patrapada area of the city last evening.
The victim has been identified as Shankarsan Das, a resident of Krishna Vihar of Patrapada in Bhubaneswar.
After abducting him, the kidnappers demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom over a video call to his wife. In a bid to terrorize her, they showed her torturing her husband.
Shankarsan was abducted by miscreants while he was roaming near his house with his pet dog on Thursday evening.
Later, they made a call on Whatsapp to the wife of victim and demanded the ransom for safe release of the victim.
Sankarshan’s wife has filed a complaint in Khandagiri police station.
His wife said, they (miscreants) threatened her to give Rs 10 lakh failing which they will kill her husband.
She has already paid Rs 2 lakh out of fear, she said.
Police are yet to trace Shankarshan.
