Bhubaneswar: Popular singer Humane Sagar’s last rites will be performed at Titlagarh, his birthplace. He passed away yesterday at the age of 36 due to multiple organ failure at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing treatment for kidney, lung, and liver problems, complicated by pneumonia.
Following Humane Sagar’s death at AIIMS, his mortal remains were taken from the hospital to his Cuttack residence, where dignitaries and fans paid their last respects. From there, his body is now being taken to his hometown, Titlagarh, where family and friends will bid their final farewell before the burial.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway in his native village, as people have gathered in large numbers to get one last glimpse of the son of the soil.
Condolences have poured in from dignitaries, including Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Opposition Leader Naveen Patnaik, who remembered him for his contributions to Odia music.
Known for his melodious voice and chart-topping songs, Humane Sagar rose to fame with the title track of the film ‘Ishq Tu Hi Tu.’ Over his career, he sang hundreds of Odia movie and bhajan songs and contributed to several music albums, including ‘Tuma Otha Tale’, ‘Niswasa’, ‘Bekhudee’, and ‘Chehera’ (2017).
He lent his voice to over 100 songs, including several chart-topping hits in films, albums, and devotional music.
The sudden demise of the singer has left the Odia music and film industry in mourning. Fans across the state took to social media to express grief and share condolences, remembering a singer who had left an indelible mark on Odia music.
