Bhubaneswar: A heated verbal exchange broke out between director Bobby Islam and actor Manoj Mishra of Ollywood outside the Bhubaneswar DCP office on Friday.
The two had been summoned to the office in an attempt to resolve their ongoing dispute amicably. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when Manoj Mishra allegedly tried to threaten and assault Bobby Islam and another director, Jyoti Das, who was also present there, said sources.
As per reports, dispute between the two has been continuing for some time, with both parties trading accusations on social media. On Wednesday, Bobby Islam filed a complaint with Dargah Bazaar police in Cuttack City after he allegedly received death threats from a person using Manoj Mishra’s name. Later Manoj Mishra filed a counter complaint with Chandrasekharpur police.
Today both of them were called to DCP office to resolve the matter, which had been escalating on social media, in the presence of the DCP Pinak Mishra. However, things turned worse when Mishra and Islam engaged in a verbal feud which led to physical confrontation. The situation became so intense that both parties had to be separated by the police.
Meanwhile, Mishra alleged that Islam had been making personal attacks on him, which led to the physical confrontation.
Mishra later apologized for his behaviour, stating that he had lost his cool. He said, “I should not lose my temper. I apologize to everyone for this incident.”
However, he also alleged that Bobby Islam had been making personal attacks on him, which led to the altercation.
On the other hand, Bobby Islam and Jyoti Dash alleged that Manoj Mishra, being an actor, did good acting in front of the DCP. While Manoj plays a villain on screen, he proved himself to be a real-life villain today.
According to DCP Pinak Mishra, both Manoj Mishra and Bobby Islam were summoned to the DCP office to address their complaints against each other. Though police intervened, but no action was taken due to the personal nature of the allegations. Both the parties have been advised to refrain from making personal remarks on social media. Two separate cases have been registered at different police stations in connection with the threat incident.”
