Bhubaneswar: The Olympic bronze medal-winning Indian hockey team on Thursday met BJD supremo and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik at his residence-Naveen Nivas in Bhubaneswar.
The players accompanied by Hockey India president Dilip Tirky met the leader of the opposition and former chief minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen’s residence. Naveen Patnaik felicitated the players by presenting them with a stole and silver filigree Konark wheel.
On this occasion, Patnaik congratulated the players for their victory and advised them to continue working to take the glory of the country to a new height in the days to come. In the upcoming Olympics, Odisha and India are hoping for a gold medal in hockey, Naveen told the hockey team on the occasion.
The players presented their autographed jerseys to Patnaik. The Indian hockey team will always be grateful to Odisha and the people of Odisha for their cooperation and support, players said, expressing that Indian hockey has regained its glory due to the support of the people of Odisha.
