Berhampur: The Aska police on Thursday intercepted and seized six vehicles loaded with firecrackers from Aska. The cargo was being transported illegally to different parts of Ganjam district, reports stated.
Police seized all six pick-up vans and recovered a huge quantity of firecrackers from them. One person was arrested by the police while nine others managed to flee from the spot.
An investigation, in this case, is on. The net worth of the seizure has been estimated at Rs 45 lakh. The police have increased surveillance in the district to nab unlicensed firecracker makers.
