Dhenkanal: Police arrested a person on Saturday in connection with the illegal possession and sale of liquor under Kantabania police station in Dhenkanal district.
The arrested person has been identified as Bunty Naik, a salesman at a local fast-food shop.
The police action followed a tip-off, which led to a raid at the fast-food shop, “Dukan Kholachi,” owned by Kuna Nayak.
During the operation, a significant quantity of foreign liquor, totaling 256 liters, was seized, along with cash amounting to Rs. 11,400.
It was discovered during the raid that the salesman, Bunty Naik, was involved in the illegal possession and sale of liquor, leading to his arrest.
The case is being investigated under Kantabania Police Station Case No. 38, with charges under Section 111(3) BNS, read with Section 52(a) of the Odisha Excise Act, 2008.
