Bhubaneswar: A team of police from Jaleswar on Friday arrested a 39-year-old person for allegedly trading brown sugar and seized 264 gram of contraband from his possession.
The cost of brown sugar is estimated to be of Rs 26 lakh, a release issued by the Balasore district police stated.
On credible information about the possession and peddling of brown sugar by the accused, police conducted NDPS raid at Ambiliatha Chhak under Jaleswar police station and apprehended the accused.
He is also involved in another case under NDPS Act pending in Jaleswar police station.
One OPPO Android touch screen Mobile Phone, cash of Rs. 1,400, a white colour Honda Scooty and two ATM cards were seized from his possession.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
