Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a youth was electrocuted and another sustained critical burn injuries after DJ vehicle of the groom came into contact with an 11 kv electric wire Kadilipal village under Tumusingha police station in Dhenkanal district.
One youth, identified as Mantu Pallai from Gudianali area in Dhenkanal town, succumbed to the injuries, while another person was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The incident happened when the wedding procession from Gudianali in Dhenkanal town was heading to the house of the bride at Kadilipal under Tumusingha police station. The DJ vehicle came into contact with the overhead electric wire, causing the electrocution. The injured were first taken to the local Anlabereni Community Health Centre and later referred to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital.
Following the incident, the Tumusingha Police seized the DJ vehicle and initiated an investigation into the matter.
