Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and four others sustained injuries as a car lost control and crashed near Gidhibasa Square on the National Highway 220 under Karanjia police station in Mayurbhanj district in the wee hours of Monday.
As per reports, the incident occurred as the occupants, all from Karanjia, were returning to Jashipur to Karanjia after watching Dola melana.
The deceased has been identified as Saroj Mukhi from Bhandariposi village in Jashipur. The injured include Sagar Behera, Sushant Behera, and Debendra Behera, all from the same area. One of the injured have been referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, while two others are being treated at Sub-Divisional Hospital and one has been treated at District Headquarters Hospital in Keonjhar.
Jashipur police are investigating the incident.
