Balasore: One person died while six others were injured when their fishing motorboat capsized at the Kashapal sea mouth in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday morning.
According to reports, seven fishermen went fishing on a motorboat from the Kashaphala sea-mouth area on Saturday night. While returning, their boat capsized in the sea under the strong influence of strong winds and tidal waves.
One fisherman drowned to death in the incident while six were rescued by fishermen from a boat following them and brought to the shore safely. The injured fishermen were, later, admitted to a nearby hospital.
It is worth mentioning here that fishing activities in the area were resumed on June 14 after a ban of two months by the Forest Department.
