One Held In Crocodile Killing, Eating Case In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Two days after a crocodile was allegedly killed and eaten by villagers in Kaladapalli panchayat under Podia block of Malkangiri, the district forest authorities nabbed a suspect on Friday.

Reportedly, after some villagers spotted a crocodile in the Saberi River on Wednesday, they captured in and tied it up and began the brutality by allegedly cutting off the fingers of the ten-foot-long reptile. It had also been alleged that many people cut the crocodile’s throat and ate its meat.

On getting information, DFO Pradeep Mirase had launched a probe into the matter. Two teams had left for Kaladapalli and during the investigation, a team nabbed one Sanjib Sardar of MPV 61 village.
