Bhubaneswar: An elderly woman was killed while five others sustained critical injuries after an auto rickshaw they were travelling by hit the rear of a stationary truck near Chandeshwar on National Highway No 16 in Tangi on Monday late night.
According to reports, the accident occurred in Odisha’s Khurda district while the victims, including the auto rickshaw driver, were returning from Puri around 2.00 am after darshan of Lord Jagannath.
The deceased has been identified as Manjari Mishra (55), a resident of in Khallikote area in Ganjam district. The accident happened late yesterday night.
On being informed, Tangi police reached the spot and admitted the injured to Tangi Community Health Center (CHH).
