Khurda: One person was killed and another critically injured after two trucks collided near Pathanbandh on National Highway No. 16 near Pathanbandh in Tangi in Odisha’s Khurda district on Thursday morning.
While the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, the critically injured is Brij Kishore Giri, the driver of one truck.
According to reports, the accident occurred when one truck was parked at the side of the road and another speeding truck rammed against it from behind. The helper of the parked card died on the spot while the driver of the second truck sustained critical injuries.
The accident was so horrific that the truck help’s head was cut off while the legs of the truck driver have been crushed.
On being informed, Tangi Fire Services personnel rescued the injured truck driver and rushed him to a nearby hospital. The police have reached the spot and are investigating.
