Nayagarh: One person died on the spot while another sustained critical injuries in a horrific road accident near Sangarh Road under Ranpur police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Tuesday.
While the deceased is yet to be identified, the critically injured has been identified as Ramchandra Rath.
According to reports, the fatal mishap occurred when a truck belonging to Madhuvasanti Sanuthya hit the rear of a two-wheeler. Soon after the accident, a critically injured Rath was rushed to Ranpur Rural Health Center but shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated.
On being informed, Ranpur police reached the spot and impounded the truck. The police have launched an investigation into the accident, while the driver of the truck managed to flee the spot.
