Bhubaneswar: A vehicle carrying a wedding party overturned, resulting in the death of one person and injuring six others.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Friday near Chiliguda village on National Highway 26 under Junagarh police limits in Kalahandi district under the Junagarh police limits and the victims were part of the groom’s wedding party.
As per reports, the vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned, resulting in the death of the driver, Bhajan Kar, a resident of Bargaon in Junagarh district.
Six passengers were severely injured in the accident, including Subas Khamari, Babillu Harizan, Sumant Kar, Dharmaraj Kar, Arup Khemari, and Tofan Sunani.
Local residents and fire department personnel rushed to the scene to rescue the injured and admitted them to Kokasara Hospital for primary treatment.
The injured were later shifted to the SRM Medical College and Hospital in the district headquarters for further treatment.
The passengers were travelling from Bargaon to Kirandul in Chhattisgarh when the accident occurred.
