Puri: A scooter rider was killed after being hit by a police vehicle from the rear at Chari Nala under Sadar police station limits today.
The deceased has been identified as Gandu Dalei of Kumbharpara area of the town.
According to reports, while Dalei was going towards Bata Mangala he was hit by a police bus from behind. A severely bleeding Dalei was rushed to the district headquarters hospital here where doctors declared him dead.
Tension prevailed in Chari Nala area following the accident. The deceased’s family members have gathered at the hospital and are demanding justice.
