One Killed, Several Injured As Two Buses Collide Head-On In Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: A man was killed while several injured after two buses collided head-on near Dhaugaon area in Ganjam district late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Balkrushna Gaud, the driver of one of the buses. The two buses involved in the accident are Dilkhus and White Horse.

Balkrushna was the driver of Dilkhus bus which was on its way to Malkangiri from Bhubaneswar.

The bus collided head-on with White Horse coming from Aska side. The exact reason behind the accident is unclear.

On being informed, police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and carried out rescue operation. All the injured passengers have been shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and Aska hospital.

The mishap took place when the passengers of both buses were asleep.

Passengers alleged that the driver who died in the collision was under the influence of alcohol.
