Angul: One person was killed and two sustained grievous injuries after a clash between two families over a land dispute in Ladajomsar village of Odisha’s Angol district on Thursday morning.
While the deceased has been identified as Nabeena Sahu, the injured have been admitted to Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
According to reports, the families of Nabina Sahu and Raghunath Sahu of Ladahinsar village were quarrelling over the ownership of land for the past few days. On Thursday morning, the dispute aggravated and both sides attacked each other with sticks and sharp weapons.
Nabeena Sahu died on the spot in a fierce show of aggression by Raghunath’s family, while the former’s wife Ashanti Sahu sustained serious injuries. Raghunath’s son Bapi Sahu was also injured in the melee.
Ashanti and Bapi have been admitted to the Angul DHH for treatment.
On receiving news about the incident, a team from the Jharpada police station reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
