Bhubaneswar: One person died and two others sustained severe injuries when two bikes collided head-on at Paramhansa Square on National Highway 149 under the Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Satyananda Sahu, a resident of Kunjam village under Khamar police jurisdiction in Angul district.
As per the report, Satyananda and his wife were going to their relative’s house when the bike they were travelling in collided with another bike coming from the opposite direction. The mishap left one dead and two injured.
Locals rushed the injured to Parjang Community Health Centre where Satyananda was declared dead. The two other injured persons are undergoing treatment there. The identities of the persons injured in the mishap are yet to be ascertained.
Parjang police, on a tip-off, rushed to the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
