**Malkangiri:** Chitrakonda Police on Friday evening arrested a Maoist courier on Populur road near Doraguda village under Kalimela block of the district and recovered various items including 10 electrical detonators and Rs 61,738 cash.
He was identified as Taraknath Paul of MPV38 village under Kalimela police limits of the district. He confessed that the articles were to be given to Maoists of Kalimela Dalam of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation.
Paul further disclosed that he is regularly supplying explosive materials, funds and other logistics to the outfit as per their demands.
There was a meeting fixed with leader of the outfit Randev in Pupulur jungle and Paul was waiting for one militia to come to Dorauda Chhak who would have taken him to Kalimela Dalam.
It was also found that Paul is the director of Asha Constructions Company which has earned various tenders of government department and presently his three PMGSY and one PWD projects are underway in the district.
