Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested another person in connection with the gangrape case of a college student. Police had earlier arrested six accused in the case which took place last month in Cuttack.
The accused, identified as Badal Sahu, is a resident of Nayagarh and was arrested from Visakhapatnam. The total number of arrests made in the case reached seven with the arrest of Badal.
Earlier, police on November 8 had arrested six persons for allegedly gang-raping a college student repeatedly for several days in Cuttack. However, the survivor’s family had alleged that one more accused was on the run.
Notably, the victim’s boyfriend had captured an intimate video of her at a cafe situated under the jurisdiction of the Purighat police limits of Cuttack with the aid of the cafe owner. Later, her boyfriend blackmailed her and called her to a house in Baranga where she was gang-raped by her accused lover and his friends.
