Bhubaneswar: Another person receiving treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital for consuming spurious country liquor died during treatment today, taking the toll to two in Ganjam district.
He has been identified as Loknath Behera, a resident of Jenapur near Chikiti, Superintendent of the Medical College and Hospital, Suchitra Dash informed.
Twelve more are still undergoing treatment at the same hospital after consuming spurious liquor. Some of them are in critical condition.
On Tuesday night, a 60-year-old man named Jura Behera from Jenapur near Chikiti had died in the MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
As many as 20 people fell ill after allegedly consuming adulterated liquor in Maoundpur village under K Nuagaon police station in Ganjam district, on Monday.
Behera had been in the ICU since Monday night.
On the other hand, police and Excise officials have arrested six persons after conducting raids at illegal liquor manufacturing units in the district.
